Coil life, liquid cost and the plain habit

If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long plain tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a plain pen device really costs in Suva
Most people searching IQOS in Fiji are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested plain in a pen device
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in Fiji, since tanks and pods go first.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where plain goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in Fiji stocks.
- Treating the advertised FJ$65 entry kit as the real cost when refills run FJ$3.3 per 10 ml.
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a pen device cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Suva: about FJ$3.3 per 10 ml liquid plus FJ$65 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On plain the budget price and the premium price can sit within FJ$3.3 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
Why does plain taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the plain blend itself harsh.
