Plum pen device IQOS in Suva: the guide shortlist
Plum in Suva: 17 units tested over 4 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Fiji.
What plum costs in Suva
We run plum the same way in Suva: same pen device, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Plum prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Suva that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within FJ$2.84 per 10 ml.
The short version: plum in Suva works if the pen device, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a plum pen device really costs in Suva
The honest read on plum: 17 units through the same routine over 4 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested plum in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Fiji, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Stock depth: 17 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every plum bottle shipped into Fiji.
- Batch code and production date, so a plum bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where plum goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why plum tastes flat after two days.
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Mixing plum with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
