Vanilla in Suva: 9 units tested over 3 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Fiji.
What the label on Vanilla is allowed to say
Vanilla in Suva reaches the shelf in pen device formats, and the starter ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
Vanilla in Suva reaches the shelf in pen device formats, and the starter ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long vanilla tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a vanilla pen device really costs in Suva
Vanilla sounds like one product. It is not: a pen device running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested vanilla in a pen device
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pen device arrives sealed but wrong.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Batch code and production date, so a vanilla bottle turned in 3 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where vanilla goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long vanilla in Suva survives.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why vanilla tastes flat after two days.
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in Fiji stocks.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On vanilla the budget price and the premium price can sit within FJ$1.76 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
Why does vanilla taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the vanilla blend itself harsh.
